Hello Forum; You know those screwdrivers with the interchangeable bits of various sizes? I was taking the battery out for water level mainteanance when I accidently dropped the bit somewhere down into the depths of the machine, I heard it rattle it's way through and then suddenly it stopped. I assumed it had gone all the way and was now on the floor somewhere under the bike. Uh-uh, no such luck! Using a magnet and searching in every nook, I still could not find the little bit. I decided to give it up for lost and reasoned that with vibration and movement it would soon fall out on road. Putting everything back together, I then proceeded to push the bike back to it's place in the corner of the garage when suddenly I felt a strange pressure! I immediately backed up and began inspecting the belt and sure enough, there was the bit, nestled in one of the spaces of the belt. That wide belt, with all those nice convenient tooth spaces is just right for catching stuff like screwdriver bits, bolts, nuts, etc. If you ever lose something that never made it to the floor, check the belt before you drive away. I hate to think what that screwdriver bit might have done to my belt and pulleys under motor power.
